Ukraine has faced several revolutions, economic turmoils and political scandals in its few decades of independence. Despite the drive of Ukrainians to better their country, sustainability is not a priority and realities such as non-existent waste systems become passive concepts. Yuriy Kyrzov's EKO Movement forms community through the use of post-soviet visual culture and creates conversations about sustainable change in Ukraine that question daily habits around Eastern Europe. EKO provides users with activist resources to assist them with exposing existing issues in their communities in order to incite conversation and merge everyday aesthetics into forming more critical dialogues shared across social media and through SLAV Publication. Let’s create a sustainable Ukraine. Follow @ekomovement on Instagram or visit ekomovement.org to join the movement.
